Sixth-Round Draft Pick Among Pirates’ Latest Three Signings

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Pirates signed three more draft picks Tuesday, bringing their total to 10.

Those picks include sixth-rounder Hunter Furtado, a left-hander from the University of Alabama. He had a 1-1 record and 4.75 ERA in 17 games (two starts) this year while striking out 38 in 36 innings.

Seventh-round selection Jaden Woods, a left-hander from the University of Georgia, also signed along with 14th-rounder Garrett McMillan, a right-hander and college teammate of Furtado.

Woods was 3-3 with a 5.77 ERA in 10 starts this spring, striking out 62 in 48.1 innings. McMillan was 4-2 with a 4.89 in 10 starts for the Crimson Tide, pitching 42.1 innings with 36 strikeouts.
