Pirates Prospect Watch: Offensive Fireworks in A-Ball

Pirates’ minor league affiliates took part in five games on Sunday afternoon, with one of the clubs extending a franchise record winning streak with a walk-off win.
Triple-A Indianapolis saw starter Eric Lauer tagged for six runs in two innings of work, putting their anemic offense at a hopeless disadvantage in a 7-1 loss.
The Altoona Curve split their doubleheader with the Somerset Patriots, dropping the first game 5-2 before claiming a 3-1 win in the rematch.
The Greensboro Grasshoppers slugged three home runs, building themselves a 13-4 cushion through the first seven innings of their contest with the Bowling Green Hot Rods. That was enough for them to survive a six-run blowup from their bullpen in the late innings.
The Bradenton Marauders didn’t get any chance to breathe either, as they walked off the St. Lucie Mets 12-11 in extra innings to extend their winning streak to ten games.
