Pirates Prospect Watch: J.P. Massey Works Bounce-Back Start
Pirates’ minor league affiliates played three games on Tuesday, managing just one win as the Bradenton Marauders’ double digit winning streak came to an end.
Triple-A Indianapolis’ game with the Toledo Mud Hens ended up postponed due to inclement weather for the second day in a row, setting up a pair of makeup doubleheaders later in the week.
The Altoona Curve fell 4-3 to the Akron Rubber Ducks. Po-Yu Chen allowed just four hits over 5.1 innings, but left a pair of runners on base that came around to score, including the eventual game-winner.
The Greensboro Grasshoppers picked up another win, with Jack Brannigan’s third-inning home run the difference maker in the 2-1 decision.
Bradenton’s win streak came to a crashing halt, with the Marauders managing just three hits in a 5-0 loss. Keiner Delgado’s fourth-inning steal of second base marked the only time Bradenton put a runner in scoring position in the loss.
