Pirates Reassign Andujar and Perdomo to Minor League Camp

Pittsburgh Pirates, Miguel Andujar

The Pittsburgh Pirates have reassigned INF/OF Miguel Andujar and left-handed pitcher Angel Perdomo to minor league camp. The major league camp now stands at 36 players.

Andujar has had a subpar spring with a slash line of .195/.297/.438 with four RBIs, a homer, and a stolen base. I would imagine he’s one of the first few called up in a pinch.

Perdomo, like Andujar, has had a rather dreadful spring.

In 10 appearances, Perdomo has an ERA of 7.45; nine hits were given up, five walks, and 13 strikeouts in 9.1 innings pitched.

With Jarlin Garcia’s injury news, one would wonder if Perdomo would be one of the first lefties called up if the Pirates need an extra arm.

The Pirates have two more spring training games left before they open the season on the road against the Cincinnati Reds.
