Pittsburgh Pirates, Bailey Falter

Pittsburgh Pirates general manager Ben Cherington announced that LHP Bailey Falter will go on the 15-day IL with a left neck strain  and general fatigue. In addition, the Pirates have called up RHP Osvaldo Bido to take Falter’s spot on the 28-man roster.

Something also to note, the Pirates have placed RHP Cody Bolton on the Taxi squad.

Falter struggled in his last start Saturday night, going just two innings while giving up nine hits, eight runs, one walk, and struck out one.

In addition, Falter has given up four home runs in his last three innings of work. Something the Pittsburgh Pirates would like to limit in the future.

Bido last appeared on the Pirates’ 28-man roster Aug. 27, when he was optioned down to Triple-A Indianapolis. Since his option, Bido has appeared in seven games with the Indians (7.1 IP).

During his 7.1 innings, Bido has an ERA of 1.23, struck out nine, walked three, and has held opponents to a .222 average.
