The Pittsburgh Pirates have unveiled a mystery bobblehead for their annual Yinzerpalooza weekend. When the Pirates host the Philadelphia Phillies on July 20, the first 20,000 fans in attendance will receive a bobblehead of rap star Wiz Khalifa.

“The bobblehead was created in close collaboration with Taylor Gang and Wiz to bring the doll to life,” the Pirates said in a statement. “With meticulous attention to detail, the bobblehead reflects the unmistakable personality that has captivated fans and incorporates specific details, including Wiz’s tattoos, jewelry, and attire.

“Additionally, the bobblehead features a sound chip that plays ‘Black and Yellow,’ a Wiz Khalifa hit that has become an anthem at Pirates games and a beloved representation of the city of Pittsburgh.”

Wiz Khalifa has been to PNC Park on several occasions to throw out the first pitch and take a tour of the clubhouse. He’s also assisted with Pirates’ content and did a voiceover for an Opening Day hype video and was part of last year’s city connect jersey release.

Wiz Khalifa is scheduled to make an appearance during Yinzerpalooza weekend at PNC Park.

The Pittsburgh-themed bobblehead has the stamp of approval from another one of Pittsburgh’s own, David Bednar. The Pirates’ closer got an early look at the bobblehead.

“I thought it was sweet.” he said. “It’s cool just to have that Pittsburgh icon as a bobblehead.”
