Pirates Prospect Watch: Carlson Reed Leads Marauders Shutout
Pirates’ minor league affiliates suffered through a difficult Friday evening, with the Bradenton Marauders’ pitching staff serving as one of the only bright spots for the second day in a row.
Triple-A Indianapolis fell 10-4 to the Buffalo Bisons, who held the Indians without an extra base hit.
The Altoona Curve saw their struggles continue as they lost 2-0 to the Harrisburg Senators: their 18th loss in the past 19 games. Altoona loaded the bases with one out in the ninth, but they went home empty handed after a 7-2 double play.
The Winston-Salem Dash put the hurt on the Greensboro Grasshoppers in Friday’s High-A game, as the Pirates’ affiliate lost 13-3.
The Bradenton Marauders were the only club to get a win, compiling their second straight shutout thanks to the efforts of WVU product Carlson Reed and the bullpen.
