Endy Rodriguez, Pirates prospects

A pair of top Pittsburgh Pirates prospects in Endy Rodriguez and Termarr Johnson had big nights at the plate on Friday night.

Rodriguez belted a grand slam as part of a big-time performance with the bat for Triple-A Indianapolis in their win over the Omaha Storm Chasers.

Down at Low-A Bradenton, Johnson was on base five times with four hits and a walk. Two of those hits left the yard as Johnson slugged his ninth and 10th home runs of the season for the Marauders.

Both prospects started the second half of the season on the right foot, and they were joined by a handful of their peers with impressive performances on Friday night.

Here are all the Pirates’ prospects who stood out.

Despite Fraizer’s homer and Bellomy’s strong work out of the bullpen, Altoona was defeated 7-2 by the New Hampshire Fisher Cats.

Pirates prospect Chavez Young went 1 for 2 with a walk and a run scored.
