The Pittsburgh Pirates have one of their bullpen assets back as reliever Colin Holderman has been activated off the 15-day injured list.

Fellow right-hander Cody Bolton was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis to make room on the active roster.

Prior to landing on the injured list with right wrist inflammation, Holderman appeared in 26 games out of the bullpen. In 24.2 innings, Holderman is 0-1 with a 4.01 ERA, seven walks and 28 strikeouts.

Holderman has often served as the eighth-inning setup man for closing pitcher David Bednar.

Bolton has posted an 11.00 ERA across six appearances with the Pirates this year in his rookie season. The 25-year-old has allowed 17 hits, nine walks and has struck out eight batters in nine innings.

With Indianapolis, Bolton is 1-2 with a 2.77 ERA across 18 appearances (one start).
