BREAKING: Pirates Promoting Liover Peguero to Triple-A
A baseball source has confirmed that the Pittsburgh Pirates are promoting INF Liover Peguero to Triple-A Indianapolis.
This has been building up for quite some time with the Pirates promoting Nick Gonzales to the majors not that long ago.
The Pirates expressed that they wanted Peguero to get more time at 2B in Double-A before pulling the trigger to the next step, and apparently he’s checked all of those boxes to earn the promotion.
One can assume Peguero will continue to shift between shortstop and second base in Triple-A, but from my time in Altoona, I can say Peguero has progressed well at second.
Peguero is slashing .260/.333/.423 with an OPS of .786. In addition, Peguero has blasted 11 homers, 20 doubles, one triple, and drove on 34 runs in 2023.
