PITTSBURGH — Andrew McCutchen passed a legend for third place on the Pittsburgh Pirates’ all-time home run list.

With a three-run home run against the Miami Marlins at PNC Park on Wednesday afternoon, McCutchen has now slugged 241 home runs in a Pirates’ uniform, which breaks a tie with Roberto Clemente for third place in team history.

Willie Stargell is the Pirates’ all-time leader with 475 and Ralph Kiner is second with 301 during his career in Pittsburgh. McCutchen ranks 10th among active players with 325 home runs between his time with the Pirates, San Francisco Giants, New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies and Milwaukee Brewers.

McCutchen’s home run on Wednesday afternoon was his sixth of the season and put the Pirates ahead 4-0 over the Marlins. It came off starting pitcher Cal Quantrill.
