Report: Cam Alldred Clears Waivers, Outright to Triple-A Indianapolis

According to Alex Stumpf of DK Pittsburgh, LHP Cam Alldred has cleared waivers and been outright to Triple-A Indianapolis. Alldred was originally called up by the Pirates on May 11th, optioned back down on May 13th, and then DFAd on May 24th.

The 25-year-old Alldred was drafted by the Pirates in the 2018 MLB Draft in round 24 out of the University of Cincinnati. Primarily used as a reliever in the Pirates’ system, Alldred has a career ERA in the Minors at 2.83 in 178.1 innings pitched.

Alldred appeared in one game for the Pirates, making his Major League debut, where he pitched in one inning of relief, gave up one hit, no runs, no walks, and one strikeout.

Alldred may not be the flashiest prospect or make any lists, but he has proved to be a somewhat solid option out of the pen since being drafted by the Pirates. Assuming he is ready to pitch, Alldred would be available for the Triple-A game Saturday at 8:07 p.m. in St. Paul, Minnesota.
