Poll: How Many Wins Will the Pirates Have in 2022?

Published

on

The Pittsburgh Pirates kick of their 2022 season on Thursday vs. the St. Louis Cardinals at 4:15 p.m. EST. Right now, expectations for the Pirates aren’t too high–to put it kindly. Action Network has their expected win total at a meagre 65 games. That number is the second lowest in the MLB, ahead of only the Baltimore Orioles, but represents an increase of 5.5 wins over last year’s preseason number. An interesting note: they are currently favored in 0 games in 2022 according to Team Rankings simulations.

But of course, the game is played on the field, and no one knows how well a team will do until the games are played.

With that being said, what are your expectations for the Pirates in 2022? Can they surpass last year’s record of 61-101, or is another 100+ loss season inevitable with this current roster. Will they exceed the 65 wins predicted. Will they challenge for a .500 record?

Only time will tell. Until then, you can vote for your 2022 Pirates win total expectations below.
