Pirates 2023 Trade Deadline Updates: Keep Track of Latest Rumors

The 2023 MLB trade deadline is upon us.

The Pittsburgh Pirates, like the other 29 teams in baseball, will be active in looking to make deals before the 6 pm ET deadline hits.

There will be plenty of trade buzz swirling in the form of news, rumors and speculation as the day gores on.

The Texas Rangers are acquiring catcher Austin Hedges from the Pittsburgh Pirates, sources tell ESPN. @Feinsand was on it.

UPDATE: 1:07 p.m. – Pirates trade Hill, Choi to Padres

The San Diego Padres are finalizing a trade to acquire left-handed starter Rich Hill and first baseman Ji-Man Choi from the Pittsburgh Pirates, sources tell ESPN.

UPDATE: 9:20 a.m. – Pirates weighing offers on Rich Hill, Austin Hedges

Pirates are weighing multiple offers on Rich Hill and Austin Hedges. Also getting inquiries on Bednar, Keller, Holderman and Choi. Bednar and Keller of course have big price tags.

Jon Heyman of the NY Post reports that the Pirates are weighing multiple offers on starting pitcher Rich Hill and catcher Austin Hedges.

Both players seem the most likely to be dealt by Tuesday’s deadline.

Additionally, the Pirates are getting hits on a handful of their other players.
