First-Rounder Termarr Johnson Makes Debut With FCL Pirates
Termarr Johnson, the fourth overall pick in the 2022 MLB Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates, made his professional debut with the organization. Just over three weeks after commissioner Rob Manfred calling his name, Johnson suited up for the FCL Pirates.
In his first game, Johnson was penciled into the leadoff spot of the lineup and manned the shortstop position. Johnson went 0 for 2 with a pair of ground outs in the game against the FCL Red Sox, before being taken out of the game in the sixth inning.
According to Fangraphs, Johnson ranks as the Pirates’ second-best prospect and is the No. 24 prospect in all of baseball. Johnson’s hitting ability and power potential make him so highly-regarded.
Below are videos from Johnson’s first two professional at-bats.
