Pirates Spring Preview: First Game Under the Lights

The Pittsburgh Pirates will have their first night game of spring training against the Baltimore Orioles in Sarasota on Wednesday. First pitch is set for 6:05 ET.

On the mound in the game for the Pirates will be Mitch Keller, who is making his third start of spring training. In his first start against the Orioles on Feb. 25, Keller pitched a pair of scoreless innings. He did not fare as well in his last start against the Rays on Friday, when he allowed three runs on four hits in two-plus innings pitched.

Keller has already been announced as the Pirates’ starter on opening day. To kick off their regular season, Keller and the Pirates will face the Miami Marlins on the road on Mar. 28.

Joshua Palacios will make his spring debut in right field and batting leadoff. Palacios had been battling a lower-leg injury which kept him out of action.

Pittsburgh will be up against veteran right-hander Julio Teheran will make his second spring appearance. The Orioles signed Teheran to a minor league deal on Feb. 28. The right-hander made 14 appearances with the Milwaukee Brewers last season and was 3-5 with a 4.40 ERA.

The game will be aired on 93.7 FM The Fan.
