Pirates Roster Moves: Endy Rodríguez, Brandan Bidois Recalled

The Pittsburgh Pirates announced a slew of roster moves prior to Tuesday night’s game against the Colorado Rockies at PNC Park.
Catcher Endy Rodríguez was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis in place of fellow backstop Joey Bart, who was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left foot infection. Additionally, right-hander Brandan Bidois was recalled from Indianapolis and right-hander Cam Sanders was optioned.
In 34 games this season with Indianapolis, Rodríguez hit .221/.326/.301 with six doubles, a home run, 16 RBI and 11 runs. The 25-year-old appeared in 18 games with the Pirates last season prior to undergoing season-ending elbow surgery and hit .173 with a .496 OPS, four doubles, two RBI and five runs.
Bidois was added the the 40-man roster in the offseason after going a perfect 8-0 with a 0.74 ERA and limiting opponents to 22 hits in 61 innings in 40 appearances across four levels in 2025. He faced 64 straight batters last year from July 29 at Portland (with Altoona) to Sep. 9 vs. Iowa (with Indianapolis) without allowing a hit.
This year, the 24-year-old was 3-2 with a 7.20 ERA and 23 strikeouts in 15 innings with Indianapolis at the time of his promotion. In parts of five seasons in the organization, Bidos is 14-7 with a 2.59 ERA across 107 appearances. In 135.1 innings, he’s allowed 80 hits, walked 72 and struck out 184.
When Bidois makes his debut, he will become the first player from Australia to ever play for the Pirates.
Bart has played 21 games with the Pirates on the year and carries a .259/.290/.379 batting line with a double, two homers, six RBI and nine runs. Over his last six games prior to his injury, Bart hit .450 (9 for 20) with a home run and three RBI.
Sanders has made five appearances across three stints with the Pirates and has allowed six runs on six hits with five walks and seven strikeouts in five innings. In nine appearances with Indianapolis this season, the right-hander has a 5.19 ERA across nine appearances out of the bullpen.
