Pirates Place Zastryzny on 15-Day IL; Call Up Yohan Ramirez

The Pittsburgh Pirates have announced that they have placed LHP Rob Zastryzny on the 15-day IL with left elbow discomfort. In response to the move, the Pirates have called up Yohan Ramirez from Triple-A Indianapolis.

Ramirez will wear number 46 and is 27 years old.

Zastryzny last pitched on April 15 against the St. Louis Cardinals and lasted just 0.1 innings pitched while giving up two walks, one hit, and one earned run.

Ramirez has posted a 1.13 ERA in Triple-A Indianapolis coming out of the bullpen. In addition, Ramirez has struck out 14, has a WHIP of 0.88, and has held opponents to a .188 average in eight innings pitched.

Ramirez was tied for the second most strikeouts amount all of minor league relievers in baseball prior to this promotion.
