Pirates Prospect Watch: Endy Rodriguez Does it Again, Bradenton Scores Nine

The Pittsburgh Pirates didn’t have any luck Thursday night, losing 8-7 to the Philadelphia Phillies at PNC Park, but some of the Pirates’ prospects had some impressive performances. Let’s head on down to the farm and check some of these Pirates’ prospects.
Indianapolis Indians
2B Tucupita Marcano
- Game: 1-5 with an RBI double
- Season: .299/.407/.469 with an OPS of .876 in the minors, 17 RBIs, and 17 extra-base hits.
CF Travis Swaggerty
- Game: 2-4 with three RBIs and a triple
- Season: .256/.324/.432 with an OPS of 756, 41 RBIs, and 23 extra-base hits.
Indianapolis fell 7-6 against the Toledo Mud Hens. Marcano extended his hitting streak to seven games, and Swaggerty is starting to heat up as we get closer to the heat of August.
Altoona Curve
3B Jared Triolo
- Game: 3 for 4, two doubles, two runs, one walk
- Season: .269/.370/.352, 13 doubles, one triple, four home runs, 29 RBIs, 18 steals, 87 games
SS Liover Peguero
- Game: 1 for 4, one home run, one RBI, one run
- Season: .268/.309/.415, 19 doubles, four triples, seven home runs, 39 RBIs, 20 steals, 82 games
Altoona got smacked for the second straight game by Bowie, falling 13-4. Nonetheless, Triolo contributed with three hits, including two doubles, and Peguero smacked his seventh longball of the season.

1B Jacob Gonzalez
- Game: 2-5 2 RBIs and a homer
- Season: .340/.409/.536 with an OPS of .945, 46 RBIs, and 34 extra-base hits
The Grasshoppers fell to Winston-Salem 7-5 in 10 innings. Rodriguez continued his hot streak with his 15th homer of the year, and Gonzalez picked up his seventh.
Bradenton Marauders
INF/OF Jase Bowen
- Game: 3-4 with 2RBIs
- Season: .278/.357/.429 with an OPS of 786, 56 RBIs, and 28 extra-base hits.
3B Juan Jerez
- Game: 2-5 with two RBIs and a double
- Season: .206/.286/.333 with an OPS of .619, 27 RBIs, and 14 extra-base hits.
Everything fell apart for Bradenton in the seventh inning against Lakeland as they gave up seven runs and went on to lose 10-9. However, Bowen remains hot in July, and Jerez came up clutch.
