The 2022 Arizona Fall League is set to get underway on Monday.

The Pittsburgh Pirates’ prospects participating will be on the Surprise Saguaros, one of the six teams composing the AFL.

The Saguaros first game is on Monday at 3:35 p.m. ET against the Salt River Rafters.

Eight Pirates’ prospects will be participating in the league this year — pitchers Quinn Priester, Omar Cruz, Tahnaj Thomas and Colin Selby as well as catcher Henry Davis, catcher/outfielder Blake Sabol and infielders Nick Gonzales and Jacob Gonzalez.

In the cases of Davis and Gonzales, both players will look to make up for lost time due to injuries sustained during the season. For Davis, a wrist injury and for Gonzales planta fasciitis.

Outfielder Matt Gorksi was also set to participate but he has since been removed from the roster after reaggravating a quad injury.

The season runs through Nov. 10, and the full schedule for the Saguaros can be found here.
