Pirates vs. Brewers Postponed, Doubleheader Scheduled

PITTSBURGH — The Pirates’ Friday night matchup with the division-rival Brewers has been postponed due to expected inclement weather. The game will be made up at 12:05 p.m. ET on Saturday in the first game of a split doubleheader. Game two will start at 4:05 p.m. ET or one hour after the last out of the first game.
Braxton Ashcraft, who was scheduled to start on Friday night, will start the first game. Bubba Chandler will follow in game two.
It was announced over the PNC Park speakers that the game was expected to start at 6:50 p.m. ET after a brief 10-minute delay, but a combination of lingering rain and more forecasted bad weather led to the postponement.
The three-game series between the Pirates and Brewers is the last one before the All-Star Break. Milwaukee leads the National League Central with a 59-34 record, while Pittsburgh is in fourth place with a 47-47 record.
