The Pittsburgh Pirates have selected the contract of OF Miguel Andujar from Triple-A Indianapolis. In addition, the Pirates have optioned INF Drew Maggi to Double-A Altoona.

To make room on the 40-man roster, the Pirates have transferred RHP Wil Crowe to the 60-day IL retro to April 23.

Andujar started off hot in 2023 with the Indians.

In 88 at-bats, Andujar is slashing .284/.364/.500 with an OPS of .864. In those 23 games, Andujar has 12 extra-base hits (eight doubles, one triple, and three homers), with 15 RBIs.

Crowe was originally placed on the 15-day IL with right shoulder discomfort back on April 26.

Crowe hasn’t had the best of starts to his season with an 0-1 record, a 4.66 ERA, 9.2 innings pitched, nine hits given up, and walked nine.

In addition, the Pirates have announced that Maggi will serve as the Pirates’ 27th man Saturday as the Pirates play the Nationals in a split doubleheader.
