The Pittsburgh Pirates have activated Ji Hwan Bae off of the 10-day injured list and optioned Jared Triolo back to Triple-A Indianapolis.

Bae will be in center field and will bat leadoff for the Pirates on Friday night against the Twins. The 24-year-old has been sidelined since July 2 with a left ankle sprain.

Prior to his injury, Bae appeared in 76 games for the Pirates and hit .238 with a .609 OPS. He recorded nine doubles, a pair of homers, drove in 19 runs and stole 20 bases.

In his rehab assignment in Triple-A, Bae hit .344 (11 for 32) with a .993 OPS, three doubles, a home run and two steals in nine games.

Triolo has spent 36 games with the Pirates this season since getting called up from Indianapolis. The 25-year-old has slashed .273/.350/.314 and has been a pretty strong defender with most of his reps coming at third base.

Additionally, right-hander Dauri Moreta will begin a rehab assignment with Indianapolis. The right-hander was placed on the 10-day injured list on Aug. 4 with lower back soreness.

On the year, Moreta is 4-2 with a 4.10 ERA in 48 appearances out of the bullpen.
