Pirates Recall Cody Bolton, Option Osvaldo Bido to Triple-A

The Pittsburgh Pirates have recalled RHP Cody Bolton from Triple-A Indianapolis. To make room for Bolton on the roster, the Pirates have optioned RHP Osvaldo Bido to Triple-A. 

Bido last pitched on Aug. 26 against the Chicago Cubs, giving up eight earned runs on five hits and five walks and striking out one in 2.1 innings pitched. 

This will be Bolton’s sixth stint with the big league club. 

In 31 games with the Indians this season, Bolton carries a 2-4 record with an ERA of 4.01. In addition, Bolton has allowed five earned runs in his last six appearances. 

From August 8-20, Bolton pitched 8.1 straight scoreless innings. In addition, Bolton will wear number 67 while with the Pirates.
