Pirates Announce 2027 Schedule; Opening Day at Home for 1st Time Since ’16

The Pirates unveiled their 2027 schedule and will be in Pittsburgh for Opening Day for the first time since 2016.
The Pirates will host the Athletics for three games beginning on Thursday, March 25, for the start of their season. It will be the fifth straight year the Pirates’ first home game has come against an American League team.
After a rare Sunday off day, the Pirates will held to Cincinnati for their first road games of the season — three with the Reds from March 29-31.
Pittsburgh is off on the first day of April before returning to PNC Park for a six-game homestand with the Padres (April 2-4) and Yankees (April 5-7).
The Pirates will be on the road for the three major summer holidays. They’ll be in St. Louis on Memorial Day (May 31), Miami for the Fourth of July and Arizona on Labor Day (Sep. 6).
The 2027 All-Star break takes place from July 12-15. The Midsummer Classic will be held at Wrigley Field.
Pittsburgh will have a 10-game, 10-day homestand from July 23-Aug. 1 with three games against the Diamondbacks, four against the Braves and three against the Mets.
The 2027 regular season will end with a six-game road trip starting with the Mets in New York for three games before the final series of the year in St. Louis from Sep. 24-26.
All this is predicated on the ongoing CBA negotiations, which could push back the start of the season if no deal is reached.
