The Pittsburgh Pirates recalled infielder Liover Peguero from the Triple-A Indianapolis on Friday, May 2, optioning right-handed reliever Hunter Stratton to Triple-A as the corresponding move.

Peguero will wear uniform No. 31, as he did during the 2024 season; he wore No. 60 during the two seasons prior. The 24-year-old middle infielder is slashing .258/.309/.382 with six doubles, one triple and one home run across 24 games with the Indians this season.

His career big league slash line is .237/.280/.370 with seven home runs in 63 games (211 at-bats). Stratton, who suffered a ruptured patella tendon in his left knee in August 2024, posted a 21.60 ERA across two appearances with the Pirates this season, allowing four earned runs across 1.2 innings. He made a quick return from the injury but spent the start of the season in Indianapolis. The Pirates recalled him to the big leagues on Monday, April 28, but promptly sent him back down following the uninspiring start.
