Pirates Transactions: Connor Overton Recalled, Steven Brault On IL

Published

on

The Pirates have called Connor Overton up to the major league team, per team statement. To make room for Overton, the Pirates have placed pitcher Steven Brault on the 10-day IL with a “recurrent left arm strain.” Overton was recently picked up off waivers from the Toronto Blue Jays; he is 28-years-old and will wear the number 41 for the Pirates.

Overton’s most recent appearance for the Blue Jays took place on August 24th; he pitched 4.0 innings, gave up four hits, and had no earned runs. In terms of Brault, it seemed like his most recent starts were an indicator of something wrong; maybe an IL stint will be what the doctor ordered.
