The Pittsburgh Pirates have their shortstop back.

Isiah Kiner-Falefa (right hamstring strain) was activated from the 10-day injured list. The Pirates placed the 30-year-old on the IL on May 3 (retro to May 1).

In 30 games on the season, Kiner-Falefa has hit .280 with a .663 OPS, three doubles, one triple, seven RBIs and six stolen bases. Dating back to Apr. 13, he’s hit .302 with at least one hit in 12 of those 15 games.

Defensively, Kiner-Falefa has played 29 games at shortstop and has a .965 fielding percentage with three defensive runs saved. He’s also played one game at third base.

To make room for Kiner-Falefa on the active roster, the Pirates optioned infielder Liover Peguero to Triple-A Indianapolis.

Peguero, who was recalled on May 2, appeared in four games and collected two hits in nine at-bats.

Pham to Serve Suspension

Tommy Pham will serve his one-game suspension on Monday night against the New York Mets.

Pham was suspended by the league for an inappropriate gesture towards a fan at Angel Stadium when the Pirates were in Anaheim last month. The 37-year-old appealed the decision.

In 34 games this season, Pham carries a .176/.262/.213 batting line with four doubles, six RBI and three steals. He’s totaled six defensive runs saved as a left fielder.

The Pirates will play with 25 players while he serves his suspension.
