Pirates Recap: Keller Struggles in Loss, Triolo Makes Mic’d Up Web Gem

It was a struggle on Monday night for Mitch Keller in the Pittsburgh Pirates’ 6-3 loss to the Baltimore Orioles at LECOM Park in Bradenton.
Keller allowed four runs, three of which were earned, across 3.1 innings pitched. Although the right-hander allowed four hits, command was the biggest issue for him. Keller issued three walks and needed 71 pitches (42 strikes) to get through his outing. He struck out three batters.
All three earned runs against Keller came in the third inning. Daz Cameron singled home a pair with one out. Later on, Jordan Westburg knocked in another with a base hit against Jack Carey, who temporarily replaced Keller to end the inning as permitted by spring training rules.
Mic’d Up For Web Gem
Pirates third baseman Jared Triolo was mic’d up with the broadcast team on Sportsnet Pittsburgh in the top of the fourth inning.
The timing could not have been better as the reigning Gold Glove winner made a diving stop on a ground ball to his left, gathered himself and delivered a strong and accurate throw across the diamond for the out.
