Pirates Prospect Watch: Brannigan, White Jr. Homer
Pirates’ minor league affiliates went 2-2 on Sunday, with the teams in higher classifications losing and the lower league teams winning big. Triple-A Indianapolis managed just one extra base hit in their 3-2 loss, leaving 12 runners on base as they struggled to get the decisive hit. It was a similar story for the Altoona Curve, who managed just three hits in a 1-0 loss. Left-handed starter Anthony Solometo pitched four innings, allowing one hit and three walks in the process.
The Greensboro Grasshoppers won 7-2 with three-run blasts from Jack Brannigan and Lonnie White Jr., while the Bradenton Marauders put together a 4-0 shutout win aided by center fielder Ji-hwan Bae, who just began his rehab assignment.
