Pirates Postgame: Pirates Offense Pours It On In 8-2 Victory

Published

on

Today, the Pirates had a total of 15 hits which was good enough for a .429 team batting average. In what was almost a mirror game of the Mets victory on Tuesday, the offense came alive lead by Oneil Cruz with another 3-hit performance. If you want to hear more about exit velocity and just how dominate Cruz has been in the leadoff spot over the last 11 games then this postgame is for you.

Even though Cruz was a big part of today’s victory, it really all started with Roansy Contreras pitching effectively once again. Though he didn’t rack up the strikeouts, he was able to limit the damage in spite of horrific defense behind him.

Speaking of horrific defense, DiNardo brings up many of the bad plays (mainly by Jason Delay) defensively, as well as a terrible base running decision that you may be incorrect on your thinking of who to blame.
