Pirates’ affiliates won two games on Wednesday, putting together two huge comebacks and seeing the affiliate ball debut of one of their highest-drafted players in 2023.

Triple-A Indianapolis defeated the Toledo Mud Hens, hitting a trio of home runs and notching seven extra-base hits.

The Altoona Curve downed the Richmond Flying Squirrels 9-7, scoring all their runs in their final two innings at the plate. Po-Yu Chen managed 6.1 innings on just 92 pitches, but Richmond also tagged him for four earned runs.

The Greensboro Grasshoppers lost 4-0 to the Winston-Salem Dash, notching just two singles. Left-hander Dominic Perachi struck out seven in five innings, allowing two runs.

Bradenton mounted a massive comeback against the Palm Beach Cardinals, taking the lead with a seven-run outburst in the ninth inning. They then lost via walk off as the Cardinals’ Single-A affiliate roared right back. Pirates’ 2023 compensatory pick Zander Mueth, a 19-year-old right-handed pitcher, made his Marauders debut after tearing through rookie ball, allowing two earned runs in two innings and striking out one batter.
