Pirates’ affiliates dropped all five games they played on Saturday night, continuing a miserable streak to begin the weekend, although a pair of former first round picks crushed home runs.

Henry Davis got things going in the first inning for Triple-A Indianapolis with his seventh minor league home run of the year, but the team didn’t manage an extra base hit for the rest of the game, losing 4-2 to the Omaha Storm Chasers.

The Altoona Curve played a frenetic ninth inning against the Portland Sea Dogs, allowing five runs in the top of the frame to nearly blow the game before scoring three in the home half to tie things up. Their magic ran out in the tenth, though, on the way to an 11-8 loss.

The Greensboro Grasshoppers brought the go-ahead run to the plate in the top of the ninth, but that’s as close as they got in a 4-3 loss to the Asheville Tourists. 2022 first round pick Termarr Johnson slugged a two-run homer in the first, his fourth of the season.

Single-A Bradenton played two games but still couldn’t manage a win.
