Pirates Minor League Report: Endy Rodríguez Leaves Early

Endy Rodriguez, Pittsburgh Pirates

Triple-A Indianapolis, the Pirates’ only affiliate still playing this season, used a three-run ninth inning rally to slip past the St. Paul Saints, kicking off the weekend with an 8-6 win.

Jack Suwinski hit a two-run homer to cap the rally, while Joshua Palacios singled, doubled and homered. Shortstop Tsung-Che Cheng continued his surge at the plate since getting called up to Indianapolis at the conclusion of the Altoona Curve’s season, collecting his first Triple-A double.

In potential injury news to monitor, Endy Rodríguez, who underwent Tommy John surgery late last year and made his return to live game action barely two weeks ago, left the game with trainers shortly after a third inning throwing error.

Here are some of the noteworthy performances amongst Pirates prospects on Friday night.
