Pirates Minor League Report: Chandler, Jimenez Excel in Relief

Pirates’ affiliates picked up three wins on Sunday, with strong pitching performances from Bubba Chandler and Carlos Jimenez.

Chandler picked up a win in relief for the Altoona Curve, who toppled the Richmond Flying Squirrels 6-4. Dustin Peterson hit two home runs and Joe Perez added a dinger of his own, together accounting for all the scoring.

Greensboro got boat raced 18-5 by the Jersey Shore BlueClaws, with five hits and three walks nowhere near enough to keep up with the onslaught.

The Bradenton Marauders leapt out to a double digit lead in the first two innings against the Clearwater Threshers, riding the wave to a 10-2 win. Carlos Jimenez punched out eight batters across four innings out of the bullpen, while Javier Rivas and Axiel Plaz hit home runs.

Triple-A Indianapolis, meanwhile, managed just three hits in their 8-3 loss to the Columbus Clippers.
