The Pittsburgh Pirates lost three players on waiver claims Friday night — right-hander Miguel Yajure to the San Francisco Giants, catcher Ali Sanchez to the Arizona Diamondbacks and first baseman Lewin Diaz to the Baltimore Orioles.

Yajure, 24, made one start and 11 relief appearances for the Pirates last season. He had a 1-1 record, an 8.88 ERA, and a 1.93 WHIP with 16 strikeouts in 24.1 innings.

In 16 games (14 starts) at Triple-A Indianapolis, Yajure was 4-4 with a 6.09 ERA.

The Pirates acquired Yajure as part of a four-player package from the New York Yankees in 2021 in a trade for Jameson Taillon.
