The Pittsburgh Pirates announced they’ve signed two more players from their 2025 draft, making it 18 of 21 picks to put pen to paper.

RHP McLane Moody (15th round)

Moody went 6-3 with a 2.94 ERA and 74 strikeouts in 47.2 innings during his senior season at Northside High School in Arkansas. The right-hander, who had been committed to play collegiately at the University of Arkansas, measures 6-foot-7 and weighs 210 pounds. He was considered the No. 352 draft prospect in this year’s class by Baseball America.

OF Carter Gwost (17th round)

Gwost was named to the Minnesota Star Tribune All-Minnesota high school team in 2025 after batting .444 with nine home runs at the plate, while also going 4-0 with a 0.00 ERA on the mound. He was committed to play for the University of Nebraska.

First-round draft pick RHP Seth Hernandez signed with the Pirates for $7,250,000 earlier in the week. One player who appears he will not sign with the Pirates is right-hander Angel Cervantes.
