Pirates AFL Updates: Termarr Johnson Draws Three Walks
The Scottsdale Scorpions picked up an 11-6 win on Thursday afternoon, and each of the three Pirates’ position player prospects who played took a hand in the win.
Termarr Johnson hit leadoff once again, and although he didn’t manage a base hit, he drew three walks… including one with the bases loaded. He also turned two double plays and committed an eighth inning throwing error that exacerbated a rough relief appearance from Pirates’ pitcher Eddy Yean, who allowed three runs (two earned) without recording an out.
Left fielder Sammy Siani continued his recent hot streak, putting together perhaps the best day at the plate of any of the Pirates prospects. Siani went 3-for-5 with a double, collecting three RBI and scoring two runs himself. His batting average now sits at .455 on the season, and his 1.160 OPS is the third best on the team.
Last but not least is shortstop Kervin Pichardo, who went 1-for-3 with a double and two walks, scoring a pair of runs and knocking in another.
Up next, Scottsdale will host the Surprise Saguaros at 9:30pm Friday.
