PBN Around the Horn: Players to Look at Prior to a Brutal Work Stoppage

Pirates Ben Cherington Draft

Welcome to the PBN Around the Horn. Here you’ll find news and notes from across Major League Baseball, your Pittsburgh Pirates, and around the Sports Now network.

UPDATE (4:39 p.m.) Per Jon Heyman, former Pirate closer and head of the “shark tank” Mark Melancon signs a 2 year deal worth $14 million with the Diamondbacks.

With a lockout looming and a brutal war most likely coming, it leaves baseball fans wondering what moves will be made prior to the chains being put on the doors. You look at some of the non-tenders that occurred on Tuesday; there were two names that the Pirates may want to look into.

    1. Richard Rodriguez- A familiar face and fills a much-needed veteran arm in the bullpen.
    2. Daniel Vogelbach- With a potential NL DH coming, Vogelbach would be a nice addition and add some much needed pop in the lineup.

Thanks as always for reading today’s Around the Horn and giving us your input. So who would you like that Pirates to take a chance on in terms of the non-tenders? Let us know in the comments or tag us in your predictions!
