The 2024 Major League Baseball Winter Meetings are officially underway and history was made on Sunday night.



Star outfielder Juan Soto will switch boroughs, leaving the New York Yankees to join the Mets on a record-setting contract. According to multiple reports, Soto will sign the largest contract in American sports history, agreeing to a mega 15-year, $765 million deal to join the Mets.

The huge news is the start of what will be an active week at the Winter Meetings in Dallas with trades, free agent signings and more.

Wednesday, Dec. 11

2:30 p.m. ET: Rangers add to their bullpen

The Texas Rangers are in agreement on a one-year deal with right-handed relief pitcher Jacob Webb, per Fansided’s Robert Murray.

1:56 p.m. ET: Red Sox land top-of-the-rotation arm

The Boston Red Sox are acquiring All-Star starting pitcher Garrett Crochet from the Chicago White Sox, according to Julin McWilliams of the Boston Globe.

12:05 a.m. ET: Rangers acquire a thumper from the Marlins

The Texas Rangers acquired corner infielder/designated hitter Jake Burger from the Miami Marlins in exchange for three prospects. The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal was first with the news.

Tuesday, Dec. 10

11:24 p.m. ET: Pirates on the board with another trade with Cleveland

The Pirates and Guardians made a notable trade, with Cleveland rerouting first baseman Spencer Horwitz from the Blue Jays to the Pirates for pitchers Luis Ortiz, Michael Kennedy and Josh Hartle.

7:57 p.m. ET: Rangers bring back a key starting pitcher

The Texas Rangers have agreed on a deal to re-sign right-hander starter Nathan Eovaldi, reports Fansided’s Robert Murray. It’s a three-year contract worth $75 million, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.

6:13 p.m. ET: Blue Jays swing a trade with Guardians

The first trade of the Winter Meetings involves the Toronto Blue Jays acquiring infielder Andrés Giménez from the Cleveland Guardians, per ESPN’s Jeff Passan.

5:48 p.m. ET: Yankees Make Huge Splash

After missing out on Juan Soto, the New York Yankees pivoted to their bullpen and agreed to a mega deal with left-hander Max Fried, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.

3:39 p.m. ET: Blue Jays bring back reliever dealt at trade deadline

The Toronto Blue Jays are reportedly in agreement with free agent right-hander Yimi García on a two-year, $15 million deal. Ari Alexander of KPRC2 broke the news.

3:01 p.m. ET: A slow news day at the Winter Meetings sees its first signing

The Colorado Rockies have agreed to a one-year deal with infielder Thairo Estrada, according to MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand.

Monday, Dec. 9

11:00 p.m. ET: Mike Tauchman Switches Chicago Teams

The Chicago White Sox have agree to a Major-League deal with outfielder Mike Tauchman, per MLB.com’s Scott Merkin. Tauchman had been non-tendered by the Chicago Cubs earlier this offseason.

3:45 p.m. ET: Tigers Bolster Their Rotation

The Detroit Tigers added a veteran to their starting rotation, agreeing to a one-year deal with right-hander Alex Cobb, per Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.

1:50 p.m. ET: Phillies Land Former Blue Jays All-Star Closer

The Philadelphia Phillies are in agreement with right-handed pitcher Jordan Romano on a one-year deal, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan and Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.
