Pittsburgh Pirates, Connor Joe

UPDATE- Joe was removed from Sunday’s game as a precaution. His status as of now is considered day-to-day. It seems Joe and the Pirates avoided a potentially major injury.

During the top of the sixth inning against the Atlanta Braves, Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Connor Joe left the game after getting hit in the hand.

Minor leaguer Maikol Escotto replaced Joe as a baserunner.

As we all know, Joe is battling for a bench spot on the Pirates roster, so any lengthy injury would cost him a shot at making the club on Thursday when the Pirates square off against the Cincinnati Reds.

So far in spring, Joe has a slash line of .275/.341/.450 with an OPS of .791.

There has been no update on Joe’s injury, but we will keep you posted when we hear any news on his health.
