The day that the Pirates drafted Skenes was the day that he was on borrowed time.
When is the best time to trade him: Now when he has a few years of low cost and teams can provide quality players and pay their salaries and the Pirates will still have a good rotation with the help of a better lineup that will help them to compete every game.

First, there isn’t a package out there for what he’s worth at minimum wage
for next 3 years

He is always going to bring an insane return, even if they wait until the 2028 deadline

2029 his arbitration 2 number will be unaffordable for them, but not to many who will still give up a fools ransom for the opportunity to extend him

Enjoy him for 4 more years and hope the UNFIT SKIP POSER STILL LEARNING ON THE JOB isn’t in the dugout for the last 3

Always the smartest guy in the room holding this team back
More hideous, BEN endorses him because this participation LIKE quote

“NO ONE PUTS THE EXTRA TIME IN AND WORKS HARDER TO GET BETTER”

SWEET JESUS

The reason that i asked this question is because if they wait until the final year, they will most likely receive some prospects in return but, if they trade him with some years of low cost there might be a chance of receiving some established player(s) that the trading team will pay a large portion of their salary and so the Pirates will have immediate help instead of waiting years and hope that the prospects work out.

Mr. Demilio, have you ever asked players how they feel about signing autographs?
Speaking for myself (naturally) I have always found it to be the dumbest thing to have to do, When I see these adults line up and thrust the things that they want signed like a bunch of hungry people reaching for a piece of bread or whatever, it just repels me and I feel sorry for the players to have to do this idiocy.

Why do runners try to advance when a ball is hit in front of them and there is no way they can reach the next base safely? I understand that there is a thing called run on contact but when a runner is NOT FORCED, and anybody can see that it is impossible to make the next base they run anyway. I have seen this so many times and it just drives me nuts. I’ve seen this the other day with a man on third and the ball was hit to 3b and the runner was out by 10 feet.
