PITTSBURGH — With a base hit to right field to lead off the bottom of the first inning off of Texas Rangers starter Dane Dunning, Andrew McCutchen was able to check off another milestone with the Pittsburgh Pirates.

McCutchen became the 12th Pirates’ player in franchise history to reach 1,500 hits with the team. Hall of Famer Roberto Clemente holds the all-time record with 3,000 career Pirates’ hits.

For his career, McCutchen is fifth among all active players with 1,985 career hits as he closes in on 2,000 for his big league career.

McCutchen is in his 10th season with the Pirates after agreeing to a one-year free agent contract with the team this offseason after spending 2018-22 with four different organizations.
