Pirates Spring Preview: Chase Anderson Gets First Start Against Braves

Non-roster invitee Chase Anderson has already made a pair of appearances this spring, but he’ll get a chance to make his first start when the Pittsburgh Pirates face the Atlanta Braves in Bradenton at 1:05 ET.
The Pirates signed Anderson to a minor-league deal last month after he spent most of the 2023 season with the Colorado Rockies.
Anderson was credited with the win in his last appearance against the Minnesota Twins on Friday. In that game, Anderson threw two spotless innings and struck out one batter. He had his first appearance against the Detroit Tigers on Mar. 2 and threw two scoreless innings.
Ke’Bryan Hayes and his .409 batting average will bat third and play his usual third base position. Billy McKinney will look to extend his 11-game on base streak while playing right field.
