Pirates Injury: Michael Chavis Leaves Saturday’s Game with Right Elbow Issues

Published

on

The Pirates have announced mid-game that Michael Chavis has left the game due to right elbow discomfort. It seems that Chavis may have injured himself trying to make a diving catch in right field on an Edmundo Sosa triple. Chavis tonight was the Pirates’ 11th right fielder used before Cole Tucker was inserted to replace the injured Chavis.

Chavis, so far on the season for the Pirates, has slashed .364/.364/.591 in six games with the Pirates. With the Polanco situation happening on Saturday, one would think Chavis would play almost every day. Now, this injury may put a damper on that idea.
