After a long wait, former Pittsburgh Pirates right fielder Dave Parker will finally join Cooperstown.

Parker was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame by the Classic Baseball Era Committee at the Major League Baseball Winter Meetings last month.

The now 73-year-old played 11 seasons with the Pirates from 1973-83, won the 1978 National League MVP and was on the 1979 World Series champion team. During his prolific career, Parker hit .290, amassed 2,712 hits, 339 home runs and 1,493 RBIs.
