The Pittsburgh Pirates have recalled right-handed pitcher Osvaldo Bido. The Pirates have placed right-hander Carmen Mlodzinski on the IL to make room on the roster.

Pirates manager Derek Shelton mentioned that Mlodzinski has right elbow soreness. According to Shelton, Mlodzinski’s soreness is nothing major.

Bido last pitched for the Pirates on Aug. 7 against the Atlanta Braves and went four innings while giving up three earned runs on four hits, no walks, and three strikeouts.

Bido’s stats for the Pirates at the major league level read 2-2, 5.35 ERA, 37.0 IP, 14 walks, and 34 strikeouts in ten games.

UPDATE: The Pirates placed Mlodzinski on the 15-day IL. The IL placement is retroactive to Aug. 10
