Pirates Recall Josh Palacios From Triple-A

The Pittsburgh Pirates will be calling up OF Josh Palacios from Triple-A Indianapolis to fill in Carlos Santana’s spot on the team’s roster.

Santana was traded Thursday afternoon to the Milwaukee Brewers for 18 year old SS Jhonny Severino.

Palacios was sent back down to Triple-A on July 17. Since his option to Triple-A, Palacios is batting .360 with four homers, seven RBIs, five walks, and four strikeouts in 25 at-bats.

One could assume Ji-Man Choi would take over the majority of first base duties after the Santana trade, but this Palacios move basically confirms it.
