Potanko: Why Pirates Should Continue Marcano at Shortstop (+)

PITTSBURGH– Despite the Pittsburgh Pirates losing 4-3 to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday, there were a few positives to take away from this game.

The biggest takeaway for me was the defensive play from Tucupita Marcano at shortstop.

As we all know, the Pirates have had some shaky play over at shortstop since Oneil Cruz went down with an injury, and the main culprit has been Rodolfo Castro playing out of position.

The poor play at shortstop isn’t Castro’s fault, he’s done the best he could out of position, but the Pirates need to find a different spot for him to play every day.

Anyway’s back to Marcano’s defensive plays on Saturday vs. the Diamondbacks.
