Now that it’s the offseason, it’s time to update our Pittsburgh Pirates’ top 30 prospects list.

Our three-man staff consisting of John Perrotto, Griffin Floyd and myself each submitted our rankings. The rankings were averaged to determine our collective top 30.

The top of the rankings was easy. Konnor Griffin is the undisputed top prospect, not just in the Pirates’ organization but in all of baseball. The 19-year-old was selected with the ninth pick in the 2024 draft and saw his status soar after batting .333 with a .941 OPS, 21 home runs, 94 RBI and 65 stolen bases in 122 games across three levels.

After Griffin, Bubbba Chandler, who was our top prospect in the organization this time last year, slides down to the No. 2 spot. But it’s through no fault of his own. The right-hander showed plenty of promise after he was called up to the Pirates in August. Chandler went 4-1 with a 4.02 ERA and a 2.66 FIP in seven appearances during his first stint in the big leagues.

Though he has yet to take the mound as a professional, Seth Hernandez, the Pirates’ 2025 first-round draft pick, rounds out the top three.
